Driving Range - Unicycle.com day out!

Every now and then we like to go out and do something completely unrelated to unicycling! We decided to go to the driving range.. None of us can really play golf but we had lots of fun trying to hit the ball!

Nick - starting the day very enthusiastically at the driving range!

Staff Unicycles 'Part 17' Roger's 26" Muni

Roger's Unicycles are normally covered in lots of prototype parts! So this one is actually a little different, lots of standard production parts here.

Today we are taking a Look at Roger's 26" Disc Muni.

Roger's 26" Muni

As usual we will start at the top and work our way down.  Perched on top of a Nimbus Aluminium Seatpost we have one of the first Nimbus Stadium saddles with the red highlights.Roger's 26" MuniA Red Nimbus Double bolt seatpost clamp is holding his seatpost securely to the beautiful 26" Impact Gravity frame. The Bengal Helix Disc brake with a 180mm rotor takes care of the braking. As with most 26" Muni's Roger has fitted the 3" Duro Wildlife Leopard tyre and has tried to save a little weight by using a Foss tube.Roger's 26" Muni The rest of his Muni is made up from an old Nimbus Dominator II rim and a Nimbus LT disc hub. To make this hub fit the frame Roger has swapped the standard 42mm bearings for the 32mm version.
Some well worn 150mm Venture II cranks and Nimbus metal DX pedals finish of this unicycle.

Unicycle v Bike in Hill Climb Race

hillclimb

Last night at the local cycle club hill climb I turned up on my Nimbus 36" Unicycle.  The course was 2.66km long going up 150m on Clay Bank near Stokesley.  The aim was not to come last!  Riders set off at 1 minute intervals.  By the top I was caught  by one bike and had the rider in front of me well in sight.

So time on the unicycle = 9:27, my best time on the racing bike = 8:04.  So conclusion is on this course was that I was faster on 2 wheels... but not by that much.  I also still beat over 12 bikes on the unicycle.

New Unicycle.com uk Boss

While Roger is away at EUC & EJC we thought we should have a stand in Boss. The new Boss just arrived, seems a bit quiet!!
