I used to unicycle about twenty years ago, a modest 20" back then. I needed a new guitar and so, eventually the uni went to a busker with a floor show... Recently I acquired, by interest really, a S/H cheapo Chinese 20" that was an absolute oain to ride properly due to its inherent design flaws. It served to arouse my interest again though, and due to the bother with the cheap uni, I have purchased this much stronger and better built Muni cycle. The price is superb for what you get, a 24" wheel with a brilliant knobbly tyre already fitted. I assembled it easily despite the spanner and alan key not being supplied as listed, but if anyone has no spanners and alan keys at home, then shame on them. The seat is immediately more comfortable even though I had to cut the seat post a bit to accommodate my height, but that is to be expected, as seat position is critical to unicycling. The pedals are easily fitted as is the seat post clamp.
I am as impressed as an impressed person on a very impressive day with this unicycle, and wish I had never given the original one up, as I would be superb now instead of re-learning, especially on this 24". I feel a lot safer and content even when simply seated on it without turning a pedal, so all in all, a splendid machine. Ordered. packaged and delivered within a couple of days after the Unicycle.com people answered a few questions for me. The service is superb and the help immeasurable, thanks... I have been thinking about a unicycle for a while and have asked a few questions over the last twelve months that were answered helpfully, quickly and with humour. My Unicycle arrived very quickly and was very well packed and easy to assemble. A little niggle being asked to pay an extra £3 for plain packaging (I was having it delivered to work) When it arrived the outer 'plain' plastic mail bag was ripped and I would have expected it to come in this over the box anyway. So yes I am very pleased with it, just had a few attempts so far so now we wait and see how we get on!! (Posted on 26/02/2016)
I got the Club 24"Muni for my 61st birthday. Assembly was straighforward after a minor irritation of realsiing that one needed a couple more tools than the instructions indicated. I chose this model because i hope to ride it on the beach and felt that the wider wheel would help. As yet I haven't made the beach. Overconfidence on the second day led to a fall onto a tiled floor when my shoe caught on the pedal -. needless to say I had ignred the advice on wearing flat shoes.
Since then I have come off on numerous occassions without serious mishap and the unicycle has suffered no obvious damage apart from a few minor scratches to the saddle.
So far i haven't managed more than a dozen revolutions without losing balance but in my defence i would say that my practice was disrupted by moving house and i have yet to achieve the recommended 30 hours practice
I have yet to manage free mounting but i am confident that i will continue to progress and with the longer days and warmer weather opportunities for practice will increase. I am looking forward to my first public appearance.
In short an excellent product and great fun (Posted on 05/02/2015)
My kids (age 7 and 9) have just acquired from Santa. Not wanting to be left out, I got my own. The team at Unicycle.com gave good and prompt advice. The plan is to take this kit out on the fells. 3 weeks in, and I'm already on the trails! Solid and reliable. (Posted on 24/01/2015)
In reply to the review reminder I like to let u know that my boyfriend whom the bike was a birthday gift loved it. Roger was a fantastic help in my deciding process as I have no experience in unicycles, this I am very happy to say will change - I want one now!
Happy Christmas to u all. (Posted on 18/12/2013)
Decided after much prodding that I needed to get fit and wanted a non run of the mill way to do so. So Unicycling it is.
I wrote to Unicycle.com for a bit of advice and got a prompt reply with some suggestions on what unicycle would suit a beginner of the larger frame. I decided to go with the Club Beginner Muni as it looked solid and gives me an opening to try some gentle off road should I manage to get to grips with the whole getting about on one wheel.
So on arrival, all pieces were present. Once I found my tools it took only about 15-20 minutes to put together and inflate the tyre. It has a good solid feel, looks good and was in good order. I had a quick go and promptly fell off but what do you expect.
So for a larger bloke, seems solid and a good build quality. easy to put together and not a wallet killer if you decide it is not for you. so over all a good buy and a good quality beginners Unicycle with good support from the company.
So snow and rubbish weather permitting I will be on one wheel losing weight and getting fit and having more fun than a hamster in the gym. (Posted on 13/01/2013)
