How to Ride Your Unicycle A well written book with clear illustrations and instructions on the basics of how to ride, up to the top level of skills. Anyone can learn to ride a unicycle, and this well-illustrated step-by-step guide shows you how.
Unicycle Skills DVD This DVD will show you everything you will need to know to get you up and rolling quickly, avoiding the common pit falls. Learn to ride your unicycle with this instructional DVD. Made in New Zealand starring Jesse Trail and the girls from Carncot School.
Get a unicycle, and you want someone to give you the magic bit of advise that will keep you on it... THE ONLY ADVISE IS PERSEVERE, AND PRACTICE! That said there are some tips that make the process (I can't say easier) but at least you know that you're not doing things completely wrong.
The book - this is more of a pamphlet, then a book, it's 30 pages long. That said it tells you what you need to know in an amusing manner.
DVD- This has a run time of ~ 54 minutes, only about 20 mins of these inform you how to unicycle. The rest are clips from the different unicycling disciplines, freestyle, mountain unicycling, marathon, and so on - this is amazing footage, and will either inspire you, or make you think, "seriously! And I can't stay on for >200 m!" The instructional stuff at the beginning is to the point, helpful, and well presented - again no 'magic pill' it's practice.
The pump - ok here I am a snob, I hate these pumps, I've been many miles from an facilities with one of these pumps with a touring racer (and a mountain bike) and I couldn't get a seal with the pump, and I've had long walks, now I have a floor pump at home, and one with a wind on valve stem (like the old world pumps) which is bomb proof! That said I haven't tried this pump, as I do not like the type, and have way better. Added to that, so far I've managed to unicycle a maximum of 300 m from my house, so it's really not an issue.
The book and video make this pack a worth while addition for any newbie unicyclist (the pump is just nice to have - and might work if you really need it, but on a unicycle you're unlikely to be that far away from anywhere, and lets face it, you'll be fairly used to walking anyway ;-) (Posted on 07/08/2016)
